# Monument Levels Requirement Image
Bricks Hats Gems Green Gems
1 Kensington Palace 1-10 400,000 500,000 - 10
London Stamp01
Past resident Princess Margaret's guests included the Beatles. Presumably when the Fab Four performed sing-along songs on her drawing room piano, it was not a Hard Day's Night.
2 Victoria and Albert Museum 11-20 200,000 300,000 - 20
London Stamp02
The famed decorative arts museum was scandalized when a staff member managed to smuggle out priceless swords in his trouser legs. No word on whether he was caught sitting down on the job.
3 Buckingham Palace® 21-30 450,000 500,000 - 5
London Stamp03
Whenever the Queen is actually in residence, a flag atop the palace indicates her presence. This must make avoiding door-to-door salespeople much more difficult.
4 Westminster Abbey 31-40 1,750,000 - 500,000 -
London Stamp04
For centuries, it was believed that the Abbey's oak door displayed the flayed skin of a thief. This gruesome idea was debunked when the skin was revealed to be… decorative cowhide.
5 Palace of Westminster 41-50 150,000 150,000 1,000,000 10
London Stamp05
While the Commons Chamber has gone smoke-free, the gentlemanly tradition of a snuffbox by the door remains. No word on whether the contents are up to, uh, snuff.
6 Big Ben 51-60 350,000 1,200,000 500,000 5
London Stamp06
The giant clock sets time by an old British penny. A penny is added to the pendulum if the clock is fast - one is removed if the clock is slow. No word on who pockets the heavy penny.
7 Trafalgar Square 61-70 500,000 600,000 500,000 5
London Stamp07
The stonemasons lowering the statue of Nelson onto the 182 foot platform at the center of the square are said to have hauled up a table and chairs. They then enjoyed the world’s highest steak dinner.
8 Royal Opera House® 71-80 550,000 650,000 500,000 10
London Stamp08
The shortest opera ever performed lasted only 7 minutes - Darius Milhaud's The Deliverance of Theseus. It might also be the only opera no one has ever slept through.
9 Tower of London 81-90 650,000 110,000 650,000 8
London Stamp09
The infamous tower once housed the Royal Menagerie of exotic animals– including a polar bear said to fish the Thames on a leash. This must have been extremely disconcerting for the fish.
10 Tower Bridge 91-100 2,200,000 250,000 1,220,000 10
London Stamp10
In 1952, bus driver Albert Gunton was crossing Tower Bridge when he realized it was about to rise – he then gunned it over a three foot gap. His bravery netted him a 10 pound reward, and possibly a life-long fear of driving over bridges.
11 Tate Modern 101-110 750,000 650,000 1,200,000 20
London Stamp11
One of the artists exhibited in the museum – Michael Landy – is best known for a performance piece in which he destroyed all 7,227 of his possessions. This was likely a one-time performance.
12 London Eye® 111-120 1,200,000 1,800,000 1,660,000 15
London Stamp12
The capsules on the London Eye® circle at the death-defying pace of 26cm per second! This translates to twice as fast as a tortoise, but not nearly as quick as a hare.
