|Several sacred relics were saved from the 1835 fire that destroyed what is now St.Paul's Ruins. The items relocated to this Baroque church include the remains of St. Francis Xavier, founder of the Jesuits.|
|This historical masterpiece was the 1869 ancestral mansion of author and reformer, Zheng Guanying, whose writings were studied by both the Guangxu emperor and Dr. Sun Yatsen.|
|The oldest Bhuddist temple in Macau was built during the Ming Dynasty. The temple commemorates A-Ma, the sea goddess beloved by fishermen, as she was said to watch over them in rough waters and ward off calamities.|

|In a true multicultural celebration, Madame Butterfly, sung in Italian and set in Japan, made its East Asian premiere at this Western-style Chinese theatre named after a Portuguese king.|
|The world's second largest building boasts an indoor mall with enormous Venetian canals and singing gondoliers, while an interior blue sky produces computerized sunrises and sunsets. Now that's remance!|

|Macau's oldest charitable institution sheltered orphans in the 17th and 18th centuries. Today it's a museum honoring the founder, Dorn Belchior Carneiro, the originator of all this mercy.|

|In the 1620s, 32 muzzle-loading cannons defended against pirates and the Dutch invaders. Today they face some of Macau's biggest casinos - a different way to lose treasure!|
|Legends abound of one-eyed Portuguese poet, Luís de Camões (1524-80), who is honored here. After he was famously shipwrecked in the Mekong Delta, it is said he swam ashore holding the manuscript of his epic poem over his head.|
