Story[]
Introduction:
You arrived in Venice with Gummy driving a Benz patent motorcar to rebuild the monuments.
Epilogue:
After you rebuilt all the monuments, you will travel with Gummy by gondola to Moscow.

The Venetian Gothic palace was once owned by a ballet dancer named Marie Taglioni, who removed a courtyard stairway and balconies. It was later acquired by Baron Giorgio Franchetti, who not only oversaw a complete restoration, but also did the right thing by bequeathing it to the Italian State in 1916. | |||||||

By the time famed soprano Maria Malibran sang here in 1835, it had fallen into ruin. She insisted that her fee be used to improve the theater. The opera house has been called Teatro Malibran ever since. | |||||||

If you feel worn out by the thoughts of re-tiling your kitchen, consider the 85,000 square feet of mosaic in St. Mark's Basilica - enough to cover one and half football fields!
